Student Artist Profile: Catie Votaw


This budding young artist is Catie Votaw from Norton. Catie is a Kindergartner and she attends our Imagine class at St. Paul's Memorial Church in Barberton. She has been attending KidzArt classes for about 3 months and her favorite project she's done so far is the Castle (you can see a picture of her Castle drawing below). Her favorite creative medium is modelling clay and below you can also see a picture of her underwater sculpey scene. Catie's favorite artist is Eric Carle. In addition to art, Catie enjoys reading, playing and eating. Scroll down for some pictures of Catie's recent work! We are excited to see more of Catie's creative artwork in the future!

Art & Drama Camp!

We all had such a great time last week during our Art & Drama Camp! The kids did such a wonderful job on both their artwork and also their drama performance.

Trinity Mural: A Work in Progress!

On Monday, August 9th we began our work on the mural at Trinity United Church in Akron with some teens from a local shelter. They are great helpers! The mural was designed based on the children's book "I Like the Music" by Leah Komaiko. Here are some pictures from the evening:

Wire Sculptures from 8/4 Library Demo

These are a few of the wire sculptures that were created at a KidzArt demo at the Fairlawn-Bath library last Wednesday. Thank you to the Friends of the Library Group for making this event possible and free for the community members who signed up to take advantage of the fun offer! They did a fantastic job, we hope to see you again at future events, classes or camps!

Student Artist Profile: Mary Krege



Mary attends the Wednesday morning KidzArt Imagine class in Barberton. She is from Norton, Ohio and will be a kindergartner at Norton Primary this fall. She loves to draw and her favorite artist is herself! She has been involved with the KidzArt program for about 3 months, and her favorite project so far has been the Castle drawing (see below!). In addition to drawing, Mary also loves swimming, watching movies, Polly Pockets and collecting. Below you can view some of Mary's wonderful artwork. Keep up the good work, Mary!
